Following up on my recent post 10 Steps to Improve the British Economy, I’d like to recommend a video of a presentation by economic analyst Chris Martenson. This presentation (and his subsequent Q&A) provide the best analysis I have come across regarding the precipice on which the global economy currently sits… and the economic and cultural shift that we will all be living through over the coming decades.
The presentation supports my belief that the blind pursuit of economic growth, in terms of Gross Domestic Product (GDP), is unsustainable and, to a large extent, undesirable. A shift is needed whereby we start to value well-being over economic growth; where we invest our scarce personal resources of time, energy and money into the things we do, and the people we do them with, rather than the things we own.
Anyway, without further ado, here’s the video. If you care about your future, or the future of your children, then please take the time to watch. I assure you it will be time well spent…
