Having been lucky enough to work and travel in a host of different countries, I’ve learned the value of being able to speak even just a few words in a foreign language – particularly the less spoken languages that people do not expect you to know. So as part of my quest to complete 50 Goals in a Year I’ve set myself the challenge of learning to say ‘hello’, ‘thank you’ and ‘cheers’ in 30 different languages.
I’ve copied the list below should you wish to join me on this challenge. It was surprisingly difficult to compile this list as there is so much ambiguity over the precise meaning and translation (particularly ‘cheers’), so please, if you spot any mistakes, then please let me know…
